Whether it is the unknown of finances, the future or even tomorrow's dinner--why are we afraid of the unknown?
The Bible tells us to not worry, but it seems to me that I spend more time worrying about things that are not in my control, than walking out in faith and in the promises that the Bible clearly says will happen if we walk in the Lord in all His ways. Then to top it off, I add worry about everyday things in my life. No wonder I am afraid of, well most things that are new, different or change of direction--because I won't feel in control and I know that I will worry!!!
I took a huge leap of faith this past July when it came to my health. I had many things I could have been afraid of: the cost, the strictness of the program, the fear of failing, the fear that it wouldn't work for me...the list can go on. I surrendered my health to the Lord, requested His guidance and asked my fabulous husband to support me on the big leap of faith I was about to take. The worst case scenario--I was out a lot of money and I would be back to square one. My health was already at an all time low--so really, I had nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Fast forward to February 2017, my health is headed in the correct direction. My husband, daughter, son in law, daughter's friend and several other friends have taken the same step of faith to discover their path to better health. Being afraid could have hindered more than just me; there are a few handfuls of people that were able to move forward--facing their fears. It may not seem like a big deal, but if we allow fear to control us, we lose out on all that the Lord has for us. We can also hinder others. So my challenge to you: Step out in faith. Set fear aside. See yourself as God sees you--not how you view yourself.
